What is diVa™?
Nowadays, more and more women are searching for ways to rejuvenate their genital area that has been causing them problems like stress urinary incontinence, discomfort, pain during sexual intercourse, or embarrassment over their appearance. With vaginal rejuvenation options becoming more and more popular, new technological advancements are hitting the market more frequently. One of these is the diVa™ laser by Sciton®.
Many women who are dealing with vaginal tissue concerns can feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. DiVa helps to restore vaginal tissue and improve sexual and vaginal health. The diVa laser therapy can help patients who are dealing with vaginal dryness, menopause, painful intercourse, incontinence, and even difficulty in orgasm. It can be especially beneficial for those who have had vaginal childbirth.
This is a quick, non-invasive, non-surgical, and non-hormonal procedure that can be done in-office at Partington Plastic Surgery.
The Procedure
Traditionally, vaginal rejuvenation techniques have used incisions to get rid of excess tissue or hormonal treatments to help improve vaginal tissue. These types of methods can have undesirable side effects, including scars, infections, bleeding, and pain. At Partington Plastic Surgery, we opt to use advanced techniques that are effective and have minimal side effects. The diVa laser is one of the ways we offer our patients effective treatment without the risk of traditional methods.
The diVa vaginal laser therapy utilizes Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL) technology. It uses a disposable dilator on top of the laser device. This allows this treatment to be completely safe for the patient as there is no chance of cross-contamination. The dilator will be inserted into the vaginal canal and remain stationary during the procedure. Its ergonomic design makes for smooth insertion and procedure and minimal discomfort. The dilator expands the vaginal tissue along the vaginal wall.
During treatment, the device will deliver dual wavelengths while rotating within the dilator. The diVa system uses an automated system to deliver highly effective treatment and only takes about 5 minutes. It can be customized to suit your specific comfort level.
Recovery and Care Post-Surgery
After your diVa treatment, you will notice that there is increased tightness and improved lubrication in the vagina, which helps you to feel more comfortable. One major benefit of this method is that there is no downtime. You can return to work and normal activities immediately following treatment. For more details on the diVa therapy, click here.
Results
You may see some results from the diVa procedure immediately, but it can take up to four months to see the treatment’s full effects.
It’s recommended you have three initial treatments spaced four to six weeks apart and then one treatment a year to maintain your results.
