When it comes to breast augmentation, many patients put off the procedure due to the several weeks it takes to recuperate. However, this is no longer the case with the 24-hour breast augmentation, or rapid recovery breast augmentation. With the 24-hour method, patients can experience less bruising, pain, swelling and downtime, and best of all, they can get back on their feet in as little as 24 hours!
An ideal candidate for the 24-hour breast augmentation is anyone who is unhappy with the size of their breasts, who are in good health, and who have realistic expectations for their surgery outcome. Those who have tuberous or drooping breasts, as well as those with significant asymmetry are not optimal candidates.
The 24-hour breast augmentation is different from a traditional breast augmentation due to the use of sports medicine and physical therapy techniques as well as anti-inflammatories and heat rather than ice and surgical bras. Anesthesia time is also cut to less than an hour, ensuring the safety of the patient. The incisions used during this procedure can be the same as those used in tradition breast augmentation, and will leave minimal scarring.
The “No-Touch Technique” can also be utilized, in which the Keller Funnel is used to place silicone implants into the breast, eliminating contact between the surgeon’s gloves or the patient’s own skin. This allows the surgeon to create a smaller incision, and significantly reduces the spread of bacteria.
Recovery from the 24-hour breast augmentation is much easier than traditional breast augmentation surgery. There is less pain involved, and strong pain killers are not required; anti-inflammatory medication is the only thing needed. Patients can also return to everyday activities faster, usually within a day, and are often able to return to work within a week.
This procedure is also associated with less risks and complications. There is a significant decrease in the amount of inflammation associated with this procedure, so swelling and bruising is at a minimum. Since pain killers are not needed, any bleeding risks are also reduced. Patients are not instructed to wear any type of surgical garments or bras, and no stitches or drains are needed.
